Dr Brian Seaton – Biography
Having originally qualified as a biochemist, Brian Seaton spent a number of years in academic research, specialising in reproductive endocrinology and clinical biochemistry, particularly in developing countries working for the ODA (now DFID), the IAEA and WHO. However, an interest in data modelling led him into health informatics and, hence, into the NHS, where he spent 15 years managing information services in the acute sector before returning to free-lance consultancy. He is just coming to the end of a 16-month assignment with Connecting for Health, supporting the implementation of SNOWMED clinical terminology.
