Biography – Dr Richard Gibbs
Richard has worked as an associate consultant with Tribal Group since 2002 on strategic assignments for NHS Connecting for Health, including:
§ communications for Choose and Book
§ alignment of IT with mainstream service improvement
§ professional development of informatics managers
He has also worked for the National Patient Safety Agency on strategic information and IT issues.
He has been a non-executive director of Southwark PCT since April 2007.
Richard was Chief Executive (CE) of Kingston & Richmond Health Authority and its predecessors from 1990 to 2002. He was chairman of the NHS CEs committee and national spokesman for CEs on IT policy.
Before that he was Director of Statistics and Management Information at the Department of Health and previously Director of Operational Research.
Richard obtained a BA (first class) in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University in 1965 and a PhD in Business Studies from Warwick University in 1975.
